Admission Requirements
MA (or Magister) in American Studies or English and American Studies, or History with a focus on U.S. History, or closely related fields, with an average grade of at least "Gut" on the German Grading scale.
Dissertation project in Transatlantic and Transnational American Studies.

Curriculum Vitae
Copies of all relevant university as well as high school diplomas (Magister/MA und Abitur-Zeugnisse) and transcripts of records
A copy of the complete MA/Magister thesis
A letter of recommendation from a senior professor of the institution at which the MA/Magister degree was completed
Proof of proficiency in English on the level C12 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) (English language skills comparable to the German "Abitur" level)
